So... to start with, I'm not big on fandoms... and to tell you the truth, I don't really think much of that pairing in Naruto at all.

Truth be told, :iconwaterspirit192: accepted to do an anime drawing of Alice for me through the Projects forum. I found her thread and although she was asking for anime characters to be requested, I asked her if she could work on an anime version of Alice. I mean.. she accepted to do a request to a complete stranger and even go out of her criterias for me. So... I thought I'd do this for her, since she's a fan of the pairing of Gaara and Sakura. :) And well.. I never drew Gaara... or Sakura like this for that matter. ^^

So my point was to do the characters in my own style. I always love seeing people work on known anime characters in their own style, (or the other way around) so why not do it too? :) So yes... they might look more mature, yes, they look older... why not? :P haha

Anyways, enjoy!

Gaara's eyebrows look a bit like leafs crumpled together to look like eyebrows, or bits of glass that are stuck together since it seems to have a triangle/square shape to it. I really like the way that you did Gaara's sand, a very well done effect, and their pose is equally as loveable. It's just those eyebrows that are bothering me a little xD

This is soo awesome! I love it! It was so nice of you to do somthing in reaturn for me! (by the way I should be finished Alice sometime this week^^) I'm glad you posted this today because it was perfect timing! Me (sakura) and my boyfriend john (gaara) just made up today after a long string of me being mad at him, so this just made me feel all happiful inside! Thankyou! :glomp:

Haha now that you mention it, I see where you're coming from about the eyebrows XD I tend to overdo it at times! I'll be more careful in my next illustrations lol!

Nice work! It looks awesome :D Naruto fanart is soooo popular at the moment... But I share your opinion on fanwork, I'd rather draw my own characters these days :XD: But I find doing fanart is good to boost your art popularity a bit.

That sounds so cheap of me as an artist lol... but it's true!

Well if ever you want to watch the serie... A piece of advice: there's over a hundred episodes of fillers between the time they're 12-13 and the time they're 16. Skip them. Don't bother to even try watching them. It nearly had me stop watching Naruto altogether, and after a while, I actually refused to watch any until the real stuff kicked back in. -_-

Haha is it? I don't really notice it all that much anymore... mainly because I can't stand all this "NarutoxSasuke" art out there... Although I did see something hilarious in the manga where they mocked the fangirls about such fandoms XD Quite hilarious!

But yes, I agree that fanart does boost popularity from time to time lol
