This is going too far!

Wow... just wow.

You know things have gone too far when you end up with your keyboard wrapped in cellophane to protect against germs at work - add to that you must disinfect your desk every day.

Seriously? They had to be kidding right? Nope! It's all true ladies and gentlemen.

To all of you panicking over H1N1: you're sheeps. The media is scaring the crap out of you and you're taking it in without second guessing! H1N1 is NOT anymore dangerous than the seasonal flu. In fact, it's killed less people this year than seasonal flu. Of course they won't tell you that on the news. Oh no! They'll say "5 dead in Ottawa"! They won't mention those 5 had a low immuned system due to another chronic disease or that it was the elderly. Nope, they'll tell you 5 people died and let you guess.

The stupid thing is that all those precautions are more dangerous than the H1N1 flu itself. By overprotecting yourself your immuned system can't get ready for the virus. So when you get it, it can indeed get dangerous.

Dammit... It's to the point where someone coughs and everyone gets away. I'm at the end of a bronchitis right now and my family and friends know how my coughing fits can get pretty bad. I lose my breath, dryheave, get runny eyes and nose - it looks like I'm dying! But it doesn't take a lot for that to happen, and I've had it for 2 weeks. I am NOT contagious anymore. In fact, I'm not coughing because of the bronchitis per say, but because my throat becomes tingly. Well I have people tell me to stay away from them on a constant basis and on the bus people keep glaring at me and sit elsewhere if they can. Come ON! Are you really this stupid?! It's not like I'm coughing with my mouth wide open, spitting at everyone; I cough in my sleeve and get away while it happens. Now it seems everything has to be H1N1. Get educated people! PLEASE!

Out here they said on the news that the government made it so to get a very large supply of bodybags and even showed warehouses where bodies would be stacked. Is this a joke?! "A lot of people will die this winter". :iconfacepalmplz: You know what I think about when I see this? People dead in the streets - kinda like in "The Stand". But it isn't even close to being like this! This isn't the Black Plague, dammit!

Here's what's gonna happen next: the economy's gonna get a whuppin once again. Why? Nobody's gonna wanna go Christmas shopping because they don't want to be in contact with other human beings. JUST in case. That alone is gonna hurt an already fragile economy.

Anyways... it just goes to show that the media will blow everything out of proportions. They did the same with SARS and terrorism. After all, a population that's afraid is more easily controlled.

I agree completely with you. However I can't do much about what I am sure will be an impending vaccination. Stupid military thinks that it is imperative that everyone get vaccinated for the flu...everydamnyear! I think it is just a matter of time. On a happy note I've so far avoided the shot this year.

Ugh....

I saw how they fabricated this vaccine and there's no way in hell they're injecting all this mercury in my body. Can you believe they wanna give this vaccine to pregnant women!?

No way... Unless your body isn't strong enough to sustain such a virus, fight it off for yourself with necessary procedures.

But I understand how the military would want you guys vaccinated... It's just too bad you don't have a say in it.

Urgh, tell me about it, the paranoia is insane.

I got sick with a fever a couple of weeks ago and went to the doctor. I figured I had a normal flu. So I went in, and the doctor examined me, and asked me questions, and then said that while they don't have a blood test or anything for H1N1, they usually diagnose by the symptoms. I apparently had all the symptoms, but then again, those are also the symptoms of a normal flu.

I nodded and said "I figure I have a normal flu", and she laughed. She also agreed that it's blown out of perportion, and she has to deal with a lot of people who think they have it.

And to think, I actually AM a hypochondriac. What does that say about everyone else?

And actually, apparently the elderly aren't as effected as everyone else, since they had to fight a similar flu strain way back when. So their imune systems are already equiped for it.

When I went in to see the doctor for my bronchitis, he seemed tired and annoyed. He asked me questions relating to H1N1 - I was like... "I don't have H1N1. I get a bronchitis at least twice a year. I know what it feels like." The way he made me feel (because he hesitated in helping me at ALL) was that I was wasting his time.

I too am an hypochondriac, so I know what you're talking about. H1N1 doesn't scare me at all... so yeah what does that say about others? -_-; It's ridiculous.

What are you talking about? H1N1 is the next big threat! It's a PANDEMIA! It's...it's awful! I know, I saw it on TV!

But I'll be okay...I've been in contact with someone that has been in contact with someone that caught H1N1 and I'm not sick...yet.

Nah, really...
When the H1N1 story began, everyone went crazy and our pharmacy ran out of protective masks and alcohol disinfectant in a few days. People really believe all they hear from "reliable sources"

Scary...

Yeah...

You'd think people would have learned by now, that with SARS and the like. I hear "but they could control SARS"! And they can control H1N1... your point? lol People immediately saw the return of the Black Plague when the epidemic was called out... even though a few days later the media hurried in saying it was more like a fire drill. In this case it's to see how fast countries will react. And YET people still panic about it -_____-;

So I have H1N1. I'm dying. All my skin has fallen off and my face has melted into a puddle of steaming goo. The government are outside my door right now waiting for me to drop dead, gently caressing the zip on my pine tree scented bodybag. Everyone I shook hands with in the last 32 hours is the same, even before I presented with symptoms. 14 of them have already spontaneously combusted thanks to the strain's ability to suddenly mutate without reason or cause, and thanks to the strain's new ability to live on in a host long after death their remains are being quarantined for the next 2 to 248 hours. The other two thousand, four hundred and fifty six are in quarantine or under experimentation in order to find a cure to this horrendous disease. I don't have very long...But I just wanted to say you're wrong..the government are justified...As I type this my brain is bleeding out through my nostrils...I guess...We've found...A new mutation.......Goodbye, cruel adventure game...

...

...Okay so I just have a severe cold and migraines, but I think my intense outburst shows that I agree with you 150%.

Thank you :p Though I do seem to be getting more ill. I spent the last few days either incapacitated or hallucinating. Maybe I do have the dreaded H1N1 flu! Dun dun dun!

Whether I do or I don't, the shivering vomiting sweatyness was not fun. That and hallucinating that I was a fighter pilot with a very angry copilot was -terrifying-.
